The Blacktown City Community Band (BCCB) is showing off. They’ve got rhythm – they’ve got the beat. This time, this group of musically talented youth are showing off. And rightly so! For music lovers, it’ll be a special treat.
The free concert will be held on Saturday, 21 February, 2009, at Mt Druitt Workers Club. Show starts are 7pm sharp, but doors open at 6:30pm.
The BCCB Band, under the baton of maestro, Jun Javier is one of the under-recognised groups in the community. It has been in existence for over 10 years and includes children with ages ranging from 8 to 21 years old.
Formerly known as the ‘Pambato’ Band, and nurtured by Jun Javier’s Music School, the children are taught not only to appreciate music but to also play an instrument. The children, all musically diverse, will be performing a wide selection of music from hit movie themes to love songs straight from the heart.
The BCCB Band have been performing at various events, often leading the way at parades and festivals.
To ensure that everybody is seated, organizers would appreciate being advised the number of people attending the free concert. Please RSVP to reserve your seats by phoning Maria Louise Bock on 9671 6133 or Jun Javier on 9625 0433.
