“Mrs. Aquino’s leadership, courage and determination have been an inspiration to all of us. I’ve had the distinct privilege of serving President Aquino during her presidency and was specifically involved in the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), one of her social justice programs. CARP was the centerpiece program of her presidency, a significant project that benefited Filipinos nationwide.
On behalf of the Filipino Australians in New South Wales, I extend our deepest condolences to the Aquino family. Cory will be sincerely missed by the 100,000 Filipinos in Australia.”
Millie Banan, President, Ilocano Association of Australia
“Corry Aquino is a leader and a mother who remained vigilant after her Presidency and dedicated most of her life fighting to ensure democracy in the Philippines.”
Sennie Masian, Community Leader
“Finally, the waiting has ended! A testimony to mortality, but what a beautiful life!”
Mrs. Elvira Gacis, former President, SAFSI Seniors
“I am proud to say that Cory was the first woman President of the Philippines after liberating the nation from a dictatorship.”
Bobby Lastica, Bicol Inc.
“Cory Aquino represents the best that can become of any Filipino leader whose sense of decency is preceded by an enduring pursuit of the common good. As a result, people respect a leader like Cory not because it is due her but because people are awed by the aura of goodness that permeates from her being.”
