FAME Adds New Chapter

November 8th, 2010 · No Comments

The wheels are turning and the Filipino Australian Movement for Empowerment (FAME) has established their first suburban chapter at Woodcroft, NSW.

Carrying the flame for Woodcroft are the following officers: Federico Dagandan (Chairperson), George Gayagay (Vice-Chairperson), Delia Perez (Secretary), Carlo Villadiego (Treasurer), Mauricio de Vera (Auditor), Leonie Martirez (PRO), Rumar Talosig (Youth) and Directors, Nestor Batoon, Ruel Talosig and Dennis Viray.

“I am very proud to have the first suburban council set up. It is up to them to spread the aims of FAME and increase membership.” said Ferdie Francisco, FAME’s Executive Director.

FAME was originally established to empower Filipinos at grassroots level.  It was hoped to establish suburban councils in line with the heirarchy in political parties.

Francisco had vowed when he assumed the role of Excutive Director to establish the suburban councils soonest.  “We’re hoping to also establish one in Oakhurst,” he adds.
