PCC – Home At Last

July 6th, 2012 · No Comments

The Philippine Community Council of NSW has found a home at last.  After 22 years of existence, PCC-NSW has secured premises at Nirimba Business Centre, Building 2TA at Quakers Hill.

The office premises is part of a buidling complex which caters for small businesses and organisations.  Although the actual office space is small, it has its kitchen and conference rooms for use for meetings, workshops and seminars.

According to PCC President, Arturo Sayas, “all organisations are welcome to the use of the conference rooms.  It is more economical in the long run rather than hiring halls and rooms all year.”

The conference rooms are also fitted with presentation equipment.  Already the PCC’s Ugnayan sessions and meetings have been held here and even the Bicol Inc. held its public hearing at this site.

In the mid nineties, PCC rented a room in the city for the use of a grant-in-aid worker.  During Villaver’s term the Bob Hughes Centre at Chester Hill was used regularly for meetings, seminars and even rigodon practices, although it was never a permanent arrangement.

“This time, there is more permanence.  We do hope that more affiliates will take advantage of the facilities,” said Sayas.

The office blessing was held last 1 June 2012 with Consul General Anne Jalando-on Louis doing the honours of the ribbon cutting.
