They’re back! The internationally world renowned Loboc Children’s Choir will be back in Australia to entertain us and give us the gift of music on June 23, 2018.
The Loboc chidlren rose from the ashes of the Bohol Earthquakes. Surmounting the challenges they faced in their province, the children found their voices to sing of faith and hope. There’s really just one word to describe these kids – they are “excellent!”
To commemorate the 120th celebration of the proclamation of Philippine Independence Day, Ambassador Minda Calaguian Cruz, is bringing The Loboc Choir to perform in Canberra and Sydney for Filipino Australians. In Sydney, the children will perform on June 23, 2018: at St. Mary’s Community Hall at 9.30a.m. proceeded by the flag ceremony and in Blacktown Library at 6.00p.m. The St. Mary’s event is being organized by the Philippine Language and Cultural Association of Australia (PLCAA) in partnership with the Penrith City Council. The Blacktown event is being organized by Jade Cadelina in cooperation with the Blacktown City Council. Both events are free to the public.
Aged between 8 and 13 years old, these are no ordinary children. Each one is gifted with amazing talent. Their angelic voices in perfect harmony with carefully choreographed moves perfectly executed in unison. With a clap, a twist, a stomp and a turn, they’ll take the audience on a musical journey with their tiny faces expressing every emotion, every word of a song.
These children withstood and endured the devastation of the Bohol earthquakes in 2013. And yet today, they stand with dignity and not an ounce of “feel sorry for me.” Proudly Filipino, they sing of faith, love and hope; proud of their heritage and their country of origin. In memory of freedom, they’ll give the audience the gift of music.
With a wide range repertoire, there’ll definitely be a favourite or two for everyone in the audience. The Loboc Children’s Choir performed in Sydney in 2015 and they received rave reviews and nothing less than standing ovations at every performance.
As seats are limited at both venues, bookings are essential.
